Because this is my uncensored How to get rid of the love handles story. The ups, the downs, what stuff didn’t work and finally the one thing that did help me achieve my personal goal of getting rid of those stubborn love handles.

After our first born it was not only my wife that had the problem with the post pregnancy belly but me too with love handles that seems to be a permanent part of me now. Put the “work” back  into Workout.

The quantinty of work you preform during your exercise to get rid of your love handles is another concept that is paramount to understanding how to design an effective training program.

Lets look at the typical way that many people workout  and compare it to a more effective full body approach. In their quest to getting lean, many people will focus  a large percentage of their workout  on cardio work and then work one or two muscle groups (single joint exercises) . So this group of people  dont get much residuel metabolic elevation (the time body spends in recovery mode)in the hours days following their workout  as their  body does not have to much work to recover from exercicing  the relative small mucsle group. Our Goal to a more flat stomach is to keep our residual metabolic elevation for longer periods.

Why because the longer your body spends time in recovering it self the higher is your metabolic rate, the more calories it uses to recover the exercised muscles, the more belly fat, love handles and back fat you lose.

And  multi joint exercises provides just that, and more.  Say you do 3 sets, 10 reps per set for a shoulder shrug  (single joint exercise) and it takes you 10 min to train this one mucsle group and compare it with 3 set, 10 reps per set  for a barbell high pulls (multi joint exercise) and it takes you ten min. This multi joint exercise takes just as much time as the bicep curl but it works the leg muscles, the shoulder muscles, and the back muscles. Same time 3 x more muscle worked 3 x more calories burned 3 x the speed to get rid of belly fat fast.
